At Todd Ecological Design we believe an eco park is a catalyst that converts waste into resources. It is an ideal solution for land-use planning where light industrial meets urban/rural. Uses are maximized uses, while costs associated with waste handling and disposal are reduced. Eco-parks can meld heat/waste and biological products from different local economic activities, thereby waste is converted into value-added products. An eco-park can help meet the needs of industry, agriculture, and the urban dweller. An eco-park is an economic and cultural bridge for communities towards a solution of problems created when urban, industrial, and agricultural entities collide. With the pressures on land increasing, the eco-park offers commercially viable alternatives to manage waste and create resources. Intervale, a Burlington, Vermont foundation, is now looking at ways to utilize this technology and innovation in action.
