Mike is a licensed professional engineer and LEED™ Accredited Professional with over 30 years experience in the wastewater field. He has been involved in the design, construction and operation of numerous wastewater systems ranging from individual septic systems to multi million gallons per day advanced level municipal treatment systems.
Mike is also an expert in water reuse systems having designed several of the reuse systems employed by LEED certified high rise residential buildings in lower Manhattan, including the Solaire, America’s first green high rise residential building, as well as systems producing high quality effluent fro groundwater recharge.
Mike has extensive knowledge of systems used by
Todd Ecological Design and has designed a number of natural systems wastewater treatment and reuse systems supplying highly treated effluent for use as toilet flush water for sustainable residential projects and environmental education centers. He has won an award from the Water Environment Federation for his presentation of zero discharge greenhouse enclosed wastewater treatment and recycling system for a small community in Pennsylvania, and is the co-inventor of a zero discharge greenhouse evapo-transpiration system.
